The Village Academy

The Village Academy is a group of town, city and village schools that have joined together to provide the very best education for the children in our care and where we believe that education is very much a matter of the individual.

New school library

Thank you to FOMS for doing an amazing job of fundraising for our new library.  The original Justgiving page set up by Raquel Lovekin was set at a target of £2,000.  We then had the most generous anonymous donation of the full amount which we could not be more grateful for.  Donations kept coming in and all in all £2,435 was raised.

In addition to this FOMs also put in a bid for KCC funding at an event which took place in Teynham village Hall.  Thank you to Raquel Lovekin for reading a speech written by Emily Christian’s dad, Mark. Thank you also to Gemma Sullivan, Natasha Paul and Amanda Christian for attending the event with their children.  Together the team secured an additional £2,000 of funding towards the new library!  This means we can now add in fixtures and fittings as well as buying equipment for our much needed library that will benefit children now and in generations to come.

We recently sent a letter out about our Mr Men themed book week starting on 26th February.  During the week we will be holding a dress up day and rather than donate money we would like children to donate a book for the new library.  Teachers have complied a wish list of suitable books for you to choose from.  The books do not have to be new – just ‘as new’ condition.  FOMS have created special stickers to go inside the books stating who has donated it so the legacy will live on for years to come.

The library building has been ordered so it is all very real now!
